Michael Traquair, General Manager / Executive Chef
At the Ramada Plaza, you'll find me: In a unique role that allows me to both satisfy my passion for creating foods and menus with our culinary team as Executive Chef, as well as support our executive team and managers in all the strategic planning and operations of the hotel, as General Manager.
In my life before the Ramada Plaza: I worked as a professional chef since 1990 at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre, the Westin Bayshore Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Hotel Vancouver, and the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel as Restaurant Chef and Sous Chef. Highlights:
- Personally selected to cook and serve for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her 2002 visit to Vancouver
- BC Chef's Healthy Chef Competition "Winner Peoples Choice" 2009
- BC Chef's Healthy Chef Competition "Winner Best Entre" 2007 & 2008

Outside of work you'll find me: playing or watching hockey, fishing, golfing and spending time with my wife Anita and my kids Maverick and Hunter.
Bonus fact: Besides Ramada, I'm also a managing partner of a small restaurant in Harrison Hot Springs called "Ravens on the Beach."
